Situated in the heart of Stow on the Wold, Alexiou’s is a family run Mediterranean Restaurant and Bar, established by brother and sister team, Aris & Cleo Alexiou.
Our aim is to offer a warm, relaxing space for our customers to come and escape to our slice of the Mediterranean. By combining fresh, local produce with gorgeous surroundings, we hope to become a home from home, where everybody wants to be and where everybody is welcome.

Aris and Cleo’s love of food began many years ago. In restaurants, their Grandad (a tremendous butcher) always encouraged them to have the Fillet Mignon, not the sausage and chips from the children’s menu. At home, they were surrounded by the aromas of beautiful Greek cooking, by their father, a very talented chef.
Both Aris & Cleo have a strong pull to their Greek Cypriot heritage. Summer visits to Cyprus consisted of their YiaYia getting up before everybody else to make halloumi for breakfast, whilst Aris & Cleo patiently awaited the arrival of the homemade olive bread from the outdoor clay oven.
Always watching, always learning and most importantly, always eating.
Aris went on to pursue his career by working in some of the Cotswold’s finest establishments.

Cleo has been working in events for over 6 years, and in most recent years, has been an Event Manager, planning showstopper parties and weddings at the beautiful venue, Aynhoe Park.
